Chris and his family relocated to the Beechwood Nieghborhood in 2006, responding to what they perceived to be God's call to be part of gospel-centered neighborhood revitalization. Though Chris and his wife Alicia were sure of his call to gospel ministry, they were not sure how that would look. With the support of Grace Church PCA, Chris was enabled to attend seminary at Reformed Theological Seminary where he earned a Master's Degree in Biblical Studies, and was ordained a minister in the Presbyterian Church in America. While working on his degree and engaging in neighborhood outreach, Chris founded 441 Ministries, which served as a launch pad and an incubator for many neighborhood initiatives, including the launching of a church, New City Fellowship.

Chris and Alicia are both Rochester natives and former Rochester City School District teachers. Chris grew up near Beechwood and graduated from East High School, where he also taught high school English for eight years. He has degrees from Monroe Community College, St. John Fisher College, SUNY Brockport, and Reformed Theological Seminary. They have four sons.
